Himalayan Mountain Photography                     Poster Sale

Help send this naive New Jerseyite photographer back to the high Himalaya to make more historic, romantic images of God's most dramatic landscape by buying a giclee printed, limited edition poster!

This is a unique image, no one else has photo- graphed Sagarmatha, aka Mt Everest, from this viewpoint or with the high res 8x10"photo  format. This image is the current defining photo of the world's tallest mountain offered worldwide by Getty Images. Search wherever you can but you will find no better photo than this. I searched over ten years to locate this perspective. There is a longer more nuanced version of this story in essays titled Photographing Mt Everest.

       Welcome Seekers, Pilgrims, Himalayan Trekkers
                        and Photo Enthusiasts

The photos you see here are the result of the central hope of my lifetime - the hope that I could create life-affirming, positivity encouraging photos that would touch the soul of the viewer and reinforce the belief that there are still great vistas to be experienced that are more than geological structures, but the forget-me-nots of the unseen creator of the Universe. These photos are reminders to the viewer that life was meant to be an adventure of the body and soul, not a work schedule. These photos are billboards for that adventure. For me these photos are the gifts of the Spirit and the postcards of my adventure that I want to share with all who have eyes to see.

To that end, and in the spirit of sharing what I have been freely given, I am offering these photos as posters at prices no one in the photo poster businesss is offering them. The quality of these posters is high as they are printed as giclee prints in monumental sizes to honor the mountains they represent. Purchasing a poster from here will enable me to continue to make more mountain photos and that list is long.
                                                                      Namaste,

                                                    Jeff

                                 POSTER SALE

Both of these posters depict the world's tallest mountain as seen in Nepal where it is called Sagarmatha which I feel is really the correct name except in Tibet, the name is Qomolangma. The name issue is explored at length in the book offered above.

This photo was featured as a full page print in Outside magazine on the May 2003 50th anniverary of the first summitting of Everest in 1953. It was also selected as the cover of a book by Sandy Hill(Pittman of Into Thin Air fame or notoriety) titled MOUNTAIN which was a history of the mountain in photographic form from the 1850s til the present.

I made this photo about 5:45am just as the sun was rising to the right here from a viewpoint near to my tent site at Ama Dablam base camp. The overnight light snow transformed this often overlooked peak into a finely etched, multi faceted icon of Himalayan mountain architecture.

The image file for this print was over 500mb! And the clarity afforded the 32x40" poster from that size scan from the original 8x10" negative is nothing short of astounding! If you've never seen a big photo print at this resolution, this will blow away all but the most hardened hearts. This is a Giclee print.

And, as with everything sold on this site, if you aren't happy, you can return the poster for a full refund.
